Angling Spirit is the umbrella company for the World Carp Classic and World Catfish Classic events.

In addition to founding and organising these annual international angling events, Angling Spirit is proud to be involved in giving back to the angling community and the sport in general.
Angling Spirit seeks to make a difference, with the vision of generating initiatives that will benefit angling utilising our experience and global marketing network. We welcome all conscientious anglers, angling clubs, groups and support trade to join us as we endeavour to make a difference, responsibly.


Angling Spirit is currently planning a major environmental campaign called Friends of the Ebro, an initiative to combat bank side litter problems in the Chiprana/Caspe area.  The initial stage of this ongoing project will be a clean up of the rubbish in this area to establish a clean and healthy environment. Angling Spirit will be contacting all relevant government officials in Spain to seek their support in this matter and we will be asking for a commitment from them to ensure that sufficient steps are taken to provide what is needed for the area.

Currently, although some waste disposal containers are in place in some locations, they are insufficient in size and numbers and are collected too infrequently to cope with the volume of rubbish being generated. This leads to a build up of rubbish as anglers continue to pile up bin bag after bin bag next to the bins, to which the wildlife in the area gains easy access, ripping the bags open and distributing it over a greater area.

We propose that after the initial cleanup operation is carried out, through legislation, placement of adequate disposal containers and follow up collections, the litter problems can quickly become a thing of the past. We welcome all who are interested in the aims of this campaign to participate in some way, be it during the clean up physically or in supporting the initiative in some other way as we endeavour to make a difference, responsibly.

It is planned that the initial campaign, named ‘Friends of the Ebro’, will provide the platform for a long-term solution to the problem and that with local services, hopefully backed nationally, the scheme will provide continued environmental care for generations to come.
